Real World makes its return for the XXI time

Yes, it’s that time of year! No, not awards season. It’s time for the new crop of Real World misfits to be “put in a house, and stop being real.”

This week, MTV gave us our new crop of not 7, but 8 new strangers picked to live in Brooklyn.

Like I said in my last post, HEY MTV YOU ALREADY FILMED IN NEW YORK! REMEMBER?

I make fun, but I was pleasantly surprised by the new cast. There’s the judgmental one, the mormon one, the gay one, the meat head, the hot one, and, the transgendered one that is my favorite just because she has the moxy to come out and be herself.

One cast member was in the military in Iraq, and used his experience as impetus for his songs, and I use the word “song” loosely.

I know I mocked it in my last post, but I have a feeling that The Real World and The City might be the bright spots on MTV’s Roster.

I am, however, waiting with baited breath for the new season of Making the Band and the return of The Hills.

Many of this season’s cast members are mostly aspiring songwriters, or actors, or models, and believe me some of them are pretty enough to do so.

Looks aside, these cast members may end up coming up short when it comes to the talent needed to make these things happen.

Let’s just hope that this season’s cast members turn out to be less like Wes the mess from Road Rules and more like Mike the Mizz from the Real World’s first return to the big apple.

I’ll also put out there that I can deal without another cast member like Coral.

We’ll just have to watch and see how the season plays out.
